Notions of Childhood and Value of Reading Children’s Literature
Abstract
literature through time. It dates back from children’s book in 17th century in Europe to picturebooks in 21st century. It shows that
the changing notions of childhood has a great impact on the value of children’s literature for children. It also shows that reasons
behind the development concept on childhood in history and it also explores the values of reading literature to children in relation
to their personal fulfillment and academic gains.
